    East Coast Casinos

    Hello everybody,

I am wondering which casino on the east coast has the best rules for red chip players using hi-lo with a 1-8 spread. I have recently only played at MS and foxwoods in CT. Mohegan is s17 DAS NO RSA no ES and you can not split 10s , 6 deck with an average of 70-75% pen. On my most recent trip to foxwoods i saw good penetration around 80-85%... the thing is there is not many hand shuffled tables as they seem to have implemented many CSM's so there would not be a great average hands per hour i would imagine , where as mohegan has no asm or csm and you can usually find a semi quiet or empty table on any week day.. It is 8 deck H17 DAS NO RSA you can split tens no ES. These casinos are both an equal drive for me of almost two hours. I am wondering which of these sets of rules and circumstances is better? Are these even considered "good games" when factoring in the $20 in gas to get there?

Also, for anyone who plays and travels often on the east coast, i have heard of new casinos in DE and PA that supposedly have good rules. The problem being they are almost twice as far if not longer for me to get to those casinos. I am wondering if any offer much better rules than the two casinos i have listed above and if it would be worth the extra travel. Thanks for any input or comments.

I think your rules are incorrect.

Mohegan Sun has late surrender and allows unlimited resplitting except 10's (and possibly Aces) (or at least they did back in 2010)
Foxwoods has late surrender and allows resplit of aces in the high limit pit of the MGM casino.

I know of just about nobody that has any form of early surrender in the U.S. except a few casinos in Oklahoma but then you have to pay an Ante.

I am sorry yes they both offer late surrender. And mohegan has unlimited resplitting on anything but tens and aces.. you can not split tens at MS but you can at foxwoods.. and unfortunately im not near high limit stakes yet to reap those benefits of RSA..

22playing21....what is your min bet size? I play at MS sometimes but rarely at FW. Does FW have CSMs at all of their $10-$25 tables??

There is no re-splitting aces at either casino. The former MGM casino did allow it when the high limit pit went H17. That didn't last and the rules are now the same as Foxwoods' Newport Room. There are no CSMs on blackjack at either casino.

Not a one. It's been a while. They do have ASMs on some of the eight deck games.

If you are looking for low limit (red chipping) you have to play at unusual times and/or in out of the way casinos. I have seen $5 tables in Pa and Delaware. Pa has all games as S17, DAS, LS. Delaware has the same but only 1 casino of the 3 offer LS and you aren't going to find a $5 game there. When I was starting out with a small BR a few years ago I found a healthy mix of $5 games in your rotation was a big plus. Before that I just threw some money together for a trip and played with that. My wife suggested I should be a professional gambler when the economy refused to recover in the same time it had always recovered before. She was thinking poker but I wanted a better defined advantage and knew I needed a real BR for that. I was one of the lucky ones that built a substantial BR.

$10.. i have a slightly higher ROR than i would like, that is why i was looking into seeing if there was any better rules/games located near me.. the $5 games t3 mentioned sound very intriguing it's just the drive is so darn far... MS does have one $5 pit but it has been full every single time i have been there even graveyard on a weekday and it is H17 with only 5 or 6 tables. With the biggest ploppies in the casino in this pit it makes for very slow, agonizing play if you do get on a table.

Your best bet for lowest limit and uncrowded conditions is weekdays from "sunrise"ish to around noon. That is when you are likely to find both low limits and uncrowded conditions. You must scout and learn when each casino has conditions you prefer to play. Many are surprised or never figure out when to find what they are looking for.

Delaware Park has 10 8D mins with LS (0.36% HE). Black chips don't play well there but red should be fine.

8 Deck blackjack with good rules is only worth playing at 81% to 88% penetration with penetration of 75% it would be hard to get a SCORE of 50 and a N0 of 19,000. This is true also with the wongin and wongout method unless you are using a very sophisticated count system with side counts and full indices.

Yeah I wouldn't bother with 8D. Just try to find tables are really off-peak hours like Tthree listed
