    Ultimate Gambit with pure wonging

After reading Ians work, i was rather intrigued and want to add it to my game in the future when I play high stakes. My question though is using the Gambit with a pure wonging approach. Ian played all counts for the most part. Will I get reasonably the same longevity affect if I'm wonging and using his Gambit, or is the Ultimate Gambit suited more for the play all wong out approach?

    Ultimate Gambit

I'm not a fan of the entire package. It does make you look like a bad player, but it does it by cutting your advantage tremendously (you actually become a bad player) and the bankroll requirements go up tremendously. You also have to keep in mind the gambit was designed for old LV Strip games with great rules very deep penetration so unless you find a game like that you're not gonna be getting the edge you think you're gonna get. Finally, at high stakes (above top bets of 2@$500) the gambit is not going to save you. Casinos that are sharp will back you off anyway, casinos that are tolerant wouldn't back you off if you didn't use the gambit if you keep your individual session lengths to a reasonable length. At low stakes (Top bet 2@$200) the gambit is a huge waste of money.

You're better off just picking up a copy of Norm's software suite and taking a day to run a bunch of simulations using your betting scheme and system. Start off with a pure system and betting scheme and get a benchmark and then add one cover play at a time and watch the SCORE shrink and N0 rise. Obviously there are a handful of cover plays that are really cheap so I suggest you focus on those, but as you add more and more of Ian's "gambit" package it will begin to make you sick to your stomach. I suggest you focus only on those cover plays that casino floor people use to quickly evaluate players for the possibility of counting and throw out all of the rest. Also remember that EV cost isn't the only cost. When you play like a crazy person (like always doubling down on 10 vs 10) your variance goes up....way up. If you are playing medium stakes to high stakes this means that unless you are playing under your real name, you're increasing the possibility of CTRing out mid-shoe. All of these things need to be taken into account.
